Drama Ensembles
Middle School Drama Ensemble
Given all the talent we have here at St Andrew’s, an initivate was taken from the Drama Department to coordinate a Drama ensemble for students in Years 7 to 9.
In the first Middle School Drama Ensemble production, the students performed Nerds United in the MC Newth Auditorium.
Auditions are generally held in August / September with the production to be staged in November.
Senior Drama Ensemble
Each year since 2002, productions have been staged by the students in the Senior Drama Ensemble. Students from Years 11 and 10 (sometimes with some casting from junior years) perform anything from a self-devised play or a scripted play, normally borrowing from Shakespeare.
Students audition for the Ensemble in March with the School casting approximately 15 to 20 students.
Previous productions include Macbeth (2006), Fear and Desire (devised 2005), Peta and the Great White Shark (devised 2004), Twelfth Night (a self devised adaptation of Shakespeare’s play 2003) and Up For Grabs (self devised commedia dell arte show 2002).
This year’s show is A Midsummer Night’s Dream and will be performed in June 2007.The show is open to the public and tickets can be purchased close to the date.
