After School Care
Junior School students can attend an after school activity programme at St Andrew's that operates each week day during term time.
We believe that play – a dynamic, active, and constructive behaviour – is an essential and integral part of all children’s healthy growth, development, and learning across all ages, domains, and cultures. JSHAA Position Paper
Social activity is an important part of a students learning day and students who attend After School Care are encouraged to participate in a time of relaxed play with their peers before settling down, completing homework and participating in more structured activities.
Students are provided support for homework and learning skills. Technology use is a major part of the programme later in the afternoon as it is highly motivational and assists learning for students. Students can access teacher supervised sites which support their mathematic and literacy development as well as provide opportunities for creative play.
Afternoon refreshments are provided.
A flexible costing structure operates for single or five-day weekly attendance.
