Public Speaking
St Andrew’s Cathedral School is pleased to announce a series of workshops planned for students to develop their Public Speaking skills in 2008.
Given that places on our debating teams are limited and that many students are interested in public speaking, these workshops provide an excellent opportunity for students to develop their skills in this area.
Public speaking provides skills that are useful both in school and beyond. These workshops are intended to develop confidence, enhance the skills provided in the classroom, assist with oral presentations, and increase students’ abilities.
The workshops will be conducted after school, one afternoon per week during Semester 1 in 2008. They will go for one hour per session. Workshops will include preparing a speech, making a PowerPoint presentation, content organisation, manner and speaking skills.

It is anticipated that these courses will fill quickly. Students will be required to commit to the whole programe that is anticipated to run for six weeks.
