A School With Heart

“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all” - Aristotle.

 Educating hearts and minds

At St Andrew’s Cathedral School, we strive to educate both hearts and minds through balance, progression and encouragement in the context of a Christian culture of care. An Anglican Independent school in the heart of Sydney city, St Andrew’s is a vibrant learning hub with difference. Well known for our outstanding pastoral care, we continue to place high value on this as part of our educational ethos.

Innovative in approach, we embrace the future with global outlook and strive to prepare our students for the world ahead. We do so by ensuring relationships remain at our core, encouraging students to achieve their best, while also supporting the unique aspects of each individual. At St Andrew’s we are Christian in action, not just in words; we strive to provide a positive and caring environment with heart, where each child is known, nurtured, encouraged, and empowered.

Community of care

The relationships formed at SACS are life-long because the St Andrew’s community extends well beyond our current students and teaching staff. The SACS network also consists of our parents, our former students and a wide range of ambassadors and inspirational figures with whom we have developed strong relationships over the years. True inspiration can be found in diversity of wisdom and experience; this is what we have discovered over time and this is why friends and family members at St Andrew’s are equally important to sustaining the special community of care we have at our School.

Words from our parents:

  • “It has been vitally important for my husband and I to see [our children]in a school environment that enables them to make their way with courage and strength, supported by teachers who care and who, in turn, encourage our children to be caring people.”
  • “We chose to come to St Andrew’s because it has a strong history and an ethos of diversity and cultural authenticity, with students from all religions and races respected.”
  • “Our daughter and son are both so different, but SACS is just as caring towards both of them and, as parents, it is vitally important for us to see them empowered to always try new things.”
