Old Andreans Association (OAA)
Old Andreans Association
The Old Andreans Association (OAA) is a not for profit organisation administered by former students to support and maintain a vibrant community. It provides an extension of the friendships and associations from the school years into a life-long connection with the school.
About the Old Andreans Association
Founded in 1906, the OAA is one of the oldest continually active alumni organisations in Sydney. It is not for profit, funded primarily by lifetime memberships. Its two key goals are to reconnect alumni with each other and to reconnect them with the school; ideally integrating them into its support network and enabling those who forged memorable connections with St Andrew’s to give something back.
The St Andrew's Cathedral School Foundation publishes Elevate, an e-newsletter published quarterly. This newsletter is targeted to former students, parents and members of the wider community. It includes school news, alumni news and information about upcoming events. You can subscribe via the newsletter option on the school website.
Connecting Old Andreans on Facebook
The most cost-effective and far-reaching way of uniting the Old Andreans community is via social networking sites such as Facebook. There is a range of content on the Facebook page and it encourages people to remember fond moments of their school years. Members are able to get real-time updates about events, reunions and graduates’ achievements. It is also the perfect feedback mechanism for the Old Andreans’ Executive enabling them to gauge the needs of the SACS community and get everyone engaged.
