Employee Benefits
Below are a selection of the benefits provided to staff members at SACS.
Professional Development
St Andrew’s encourages all staff members to expand their knowledge and develop new skills to the benefit of the school through weekly Professional Development sessions.
Peer Partnering Programme
This programme is designed for knowledge sharing and to support professional development, a means of enriching staff skills through observation and conversation with others. It is compulsory for all teaching staff. Many non teaching staff also choose to take part.
Superannuation
Superannuation payable under Federal Legislation will be paid by the School into either NGS Superannuation Fund or any other nominated fund.
Financial Planning and Seminars
NGS Superannuation, the school's chosen fund, offers a free financial seminar to members to give a more comprehensive understanding of successful personal finance management.
Income Protection through NGS Superannuation
NGS Super, through CommInsure, provides a range of other insurance options to staff members.
Salary Sacrifice
In addition to the school’s superannuation contributions, staff are able to make voluntary contributions to their nominated super fund.
Salary Sacrifice of items such as laptops need to be discussed with the Executive Director of School Services to ensure that the obligations Australian Government Taxation Laws are met.
Salary Packaging
It is the school’s intention to look at any way in which additional benefits can be offered to members of staff. Salary Packaging is able to provide an after tax benefit to staff in certain circumstances.
Salary Packaging is entirely voluntary and may not suit everyone’s circumstances. Choosing it may allow for further financial flexibility, as staff members have the ability to select from a generous list of items, and may choose to package one item or several items. The most commonly packaged items at the school are motor vehicles, mortgage payments, school fees and insurances.
Flu Vaccinations
Every year SACS provides the opportunity for all staff to be vaccinated against the Flu with the FluVax. This is given on-site by the School’s Health Centre nurses.
Health Centre
The Health Centre, while available to all students, is also available for staff in emergencies, and is staffed during term time with qualified registered nurses.
First Aid Certificates
All staff are required to have a current First Aid Certificate. St Andrew's is proud to offer this course annually on-site for the convenience of its staff.
Holiday Accommodation at Kirrikee
Kirrikee is St Andrew’s outdoor education facility, a property located in the Southern Highlands. SACS offers staff low cost basic camping/cabin facilities at Kirrikee when not being used by the school.
Gym and Weights Room
A fully equipped weights room/gym is available for use by staff. Our Fitness Supervisor is happy to design a personal programme to suit individual fitness needs.
