Qualified and Experienced Enrichment and Learning Staff
Teachers and other support staff are appropriately qualified, and experienced and are expected to develop an expertise in a particular specialisation (Learning support, English as a Second Language or Gifted and Talented) in order to assist the team as a whole to address all aspects of learning needs in the school.
The Enrichment and Learning Department provides the following services:

Applying for Australian Targeted Government Funding – Integration, Literacy and Numeracy, Capitol works

Coordinating Literacy and Numeracy support projects that arise from successful funding applications

Coordinating Learning Support Teams

Providing mandated Inclusive Learning Planning (ILP) meetings and review meetings for students who meet criteria for Integration Funding

ILP meetings for students with Learning Difficulties on a priority of needs (referral) basis

Individual Literacy or Numeracy assessment through referral processes

Transition planning

Staff consultations
-
Providing whole school, department specific and individual professional development in line with priority whole school outcomes set by the Head of School

In class support / team teaching

Collaborative planning and teacher support with curriculum adjustments

Application for and provisions of Special Provisions for students that meet NSW Board of Studies criteria

Establishment and implementation of Peer Support programmes in close collaboration with Student Services staff and Outdoor Education, e.g. PLANTS (Peer Literacy and Numeracy Tutor Support Programme) and social skills programmes

Coordinating Youth Pathways programme

Coordinating Teacher / Consultants from outside agencies such as RIDBC, ASPECT and AIS

Establishing connections with University of Sydney to increase Literacy and or Numeracy support

Coordinating and facilitating volunteer tutor programmes
