Enrichment and Learning

Education at St Andrew’s Cathedral School is based on Christian values and that means valuing and nurturing each student. From Kindergarten to Year 12, we strive to provide the very best learning environment for everyone. We take pride in our reputation for caring and nurturing our students and welcome those with specific learning needs, whether they are struggling in a particular area or are gifted and talented.

A Curriculum Accessible to All

The education we offer always ensures that the school is inclusive and the curriculum is accessible to all. Staff are committed to continually developing the School's capacity to accommodate the full range of individual differences among its students. We strive to maximise the potential of individuals spanning the academic, social and emotional realms.

Is your child eligible for government funding?

St Andrew's, as an Australian school, is able to apply to the Commonwealth Government for funding support regarding individual students from K - 12 who are educationally disadvantaged in terms of their access to and participation in school programmes and their overall learning outcomes because of their disability. This support may be in class, resource related or used to increase the professional knowledge of staff to understand the individual needs of your child.

If you would like to know if your child is eligible for Government Targeted Funding programmes for Students with Disabilities, please download the PDF form at the bottom of this page. To determine eligibility, a St Andrew's student must be assessed by a person with relevant qualifications as having intellectual, sensory, physical, language, mental health or multiple disability or autism to a degree that satisfies the NSW Department of Education criteria for eligibility.

You are welcome to contact Mr Phil Baldock to discuss any of these matters relating to your child.

Enrichment and Learning Department

The Enrichment and Learning Department plays a vital role at St Andrew’s Cathedral School. Teachers, parents, staff and where possible, outside relevant professionals, work collaboratively to establish teaching and learning strategies that help students participate fully in the life of the School. Students’ needs are diverse and always changing, therefore responding to them means new initiatives are continually being created. This ensures flexible and responsive support service delivery

Qualified and Experienced Staff

Teachers and other support staff are appropriately qualified, and experienced and are expected to develop an expertise in a particular specialisation (Learning support, English as a Second Language or Gifted and Talented) in order to assist the team as a whole to address all aspects of learning needs in the school.
