Enrolment and the Application Process

St Andrew’s is a day school for girls and boys from Kindergarten through to Year 12. Entry into any Year group is subject to availability, with major intakes at Kindergarten, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 10.

Choosing a school for your son or daughter is a significant decision. Once you have visited our school and attended a Tour or Information Evening, you may be ready to go ahead with enrolment.

The application process

  3. Approximately 12-18 months prior to the desired commencement date (if places are available), parents will be contacted to arrange a formal interview with the Registrar or a member of the School’s Executive, who will discuss educational matters with your son or daughter and provide a brief tour of the school.

At this time, you will be sent the Offer Paperwork, including the Terms and Conditions of Enrolment, which needs to be signed and returned to the Registrar, along with the non-refundable Enrolment Fee of $2500 to secure and confirm your child’s place.

Students who do not meet the required levels by the school are encouraged to enrol in a high school preparation English language programme. Students who meet the required levels by the school are then required to sit a further internal diagnostic assessment by the school’s ESL specialist to determine how the school can support them. It is the preference of the school that overseas students enrolled in St Andrew’s Cathedral School stay with one of both parents, or close relatives. The school will consider a homestay arranged by the student’s family but approval must be sought by the school.  The School is obliged to visit and assess students’ domestic arrangements to ensure compliance, safety and wellbeing.
