Genuine Engagement

Targeted Learning in Literacy and Numeracy

Our learning philosophy in the Junior School centres on the explicit teaching of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy in an age-appropriate manner, with professional development programmes in place to ensure our staff are fully equipped to pinpoint where each student is at academically, and to target learning opportunities accordingly.

Extra Tuition where it’s needed

Real progress beyond the classroom is important to our staff – hence we run home, holiday and before school reading programmes to target those who need support.

The Skills to Think and Inquire

We strive to see our students instilled with higher order thinking skills so they can make connections across subjects. We help them become aware of broader global issues and start to build the foundations of independent thinking and critical inquiry. Class sizes are deliberately kept small and classrooms are well equipped with Smart boards and laptops.

Learning in the City

Our close proximity to Sydney’s Central Business District means we use the city’s educational resources whenever possible – whether it is watching the Sydney Symphony Orchestra performing live, viewing Town Hall’s city model or attending the Apple Store’s iPad launch, our students are active, engaged citizens in the broader Sydney community.
