Applying for Employment at St Andrew’s

How To Apply

All job applications should contain the following:

  • Covering Letter
    This should briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are applying for this position. 
  • Application for Employment
    Complete either the Application Form for Teaching Positions or the Application Form for Support and Operation Staff Positions
  • Resume/Curriculum Vitae
    This document should contain a brief description of your past/present employment history and outline achievements, educational background and qualifications relevant to the position being sought. 
  • Working With Children Check
    All applicants must complete the Applicant Declaration and Consent Form and submit this signed document with their application. 

Note, it is an offence under the NSW Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998 for a person convicted of a serious sex offence to apply for any academic or administrative position at St Andrew’s Cathedral School.

  • Church Involvement
    Please indicate whether you attend a local church of any denomination and provide details of any particular involvement or church activity with which you are associated.
  • Details of at least two Referees
    Referees nominated should be readily accessible and advised by the applicant that they may be contacted by the School.
  • Citizenship
    If not an Australian citizen, you must indicate your visa status.

Applications for teaching positions must also include the following:

  • Certified copies of all relevant academic transcripts / qualifications.
  • Evidence that you are accredited, or eligible for accreditation under the NSW Institute of Teachers Act, or exempt from Accreditation.
  • A statement of your educational philosophy as it applies to the subject area.

Applications for support and operational positions should be  submitted to
support@sacs.nsw.edu.au

All job applications will be acknowledged upon receipt, by either return email, or by letter to your mailing address.

Application Selection

St Andrew’s selects applicants for employment on the basis of factors such as experience, character, ability to perform the required duties, and willingness to contribute to extracurricular life. Decisions regarding employment and promotion will be based solely upon valid job-related factors.

Your Personal Information

In making an application for a position, you will be providing St Andrew’s Cathedral School with personal information. The information, for example your name and address or information contained in your resume, is collected solely in order to assess your application.

You agree that we may store this information for three months.

You may seek access to your personal information that we hold about you if you are unsuccessful for the position. However, there will be occasions when access is denied. Such occasions would include where access would have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of others.

We will not disclose any information to a third party without your consent. 

We are required by law to collect information under the Child Protection Legislation.
