Learning Spaces

A Vibrant Learning Space at St Andrew’s Cathedral School

Our Junior School is located on Level 7 of St Andrew’s House. It’s a world of colour and vibrancy, where ever-changing displays of student work are as much a structural feature of the space as the walls and ceiling themselves.

Semi Open-Plan

The semi open-plan learning area is based on evidence on the benefits of nurturing flexible learning. Small clusters of classrooms open out into shared environments, where students have ready access to technology and creative development stations.

Easy Transitions from Group to Individual Learning

The St Andrew’s Junior School staff team are acutely aware of the importance of differentiating learning techniques, alternating patterns of instruction with learning enquiry. Our dynamic space enables the transitions between individual and group work to flow seamlessly throughout the day.

“Creating a space for primary school children in a city building is about manipulating space and form… removing walls, integrating public and more private spaces, allowing all areas to be used for many purposes, to provide fun, colour and discovery,"

                                                      – Junior School Architect and School Parent, Paul Davies.
