Keeping On Track and On Time
Providing Direction and Care
Within the context of a larger community atmosphere, it is increasingly important to provide the necessary support Senior students need to keep on track and on time with their studies. Whilst senior students are more capable of finding their niche with a larger cohort, they still require care and age-appropriate direction, which is achieved effectively by our Heads of House and Academic Coordinators. Our House groups are relatively small, allowing for the kind of care that is both relational and engaging in an environment where a comprehensive suite of subjects supports preparation for life beyond the school years.
Support Initiatives for Senior Students
• From Year 10 onwards, teachers prepare students for their academic programme by providing a range of curriculum handbooks, research resources and subject specific materials.
• The Academic calendar, curriculum information and assessment notifications are available to students via our SACSnet portal.
• Extra study resources are made readily available through class teachers, house tutors and the school library.
• Every student within the Senior College is a member of a House and Year level based tutor group. These are small in size, allowing for individual focus as well as a more manageable support network. Students meet for designated tutorial periods twice weekly, focussing on pastoral and academic concerns.
