Working at SACS

Working at St Andrew’s

St Andrew’s has over 170 teaching staff in full and part time positions and over 50 administration and support staff. Each member is a valued part of our community. The staff at St Andrew’s share the school’s long-standing commitment to Christian education and academic excellence.

A Growing school

St Andrew’s is an Anglican coeducational School for students from Kindergarten to Year 12, located in the heart of Sydney. Over the past 15 years, St Andrew’s has doubled in size, not only in enrolments, but in terms of space and structure. Our creative and progressive use of space and the architectural features of our CBD campus has seen the school become a vital part of Sydney's cosmopolitan city landscape.

A Welcoming Community

St Andrew’s offers a feeling of community that is unique. Our goal is to create and sustain a city school community where all are appreciated and respected for their individual and collective contributions. We seek to understand the differences and similarities among us and to appreciate the richness which diversity provides.

What the Students Say

Here’s what some of our Senior College students said about their teachers:

“The teachers put in a lot of effort to keep the lessons interesting. They go beyond the textbook and tailor the lessons to our interests”

“They’re more experienced teachers; they’ve been out in the world more than most”

“Our teachers are more progressive than most teachers at other schools”

“They take you really seriously, they don’t just think of you as some kid”

“St Andrew’s achieves a really good balance between having authority and letting you work things out for yourself”

“They know you and care about you as individuals, if there’s something you care about they’ll encourage you. If you have a weakness they’ll work with you on it”

A Fulfilling Career at St Andrew’s

St Andrew’s is a diverse school community that spans Sydney. We deliver a high standard of education and support within a framework of authentic Christian teaching and values. Our valued relationships are based on a genuine regard for all students, supportive classroom environments and exceptional pastoral care programmes.

Committed Teachers, Support and Operational Staff

St Andrew’s teaching staff go the extra mile to help their students, including offering extra classes after school. They are also very active in providing co-curricular programmes to the school, such as debating, sport, performing arts and community service.

Our support and operational staffing team work tirelessly to ensure the functioning of SACS. Their invaluable skills span across areas including marketing, advertising, career development, accounting, counselling and teaching support.

Working as a Team

St Andrew’s students need to be citizens of the world. The teaching staff at SACS work as a team to model and teach students on how to become employable, adaptable and solution-focused - not only within the school years, but well beyond them.
