What is RSS?

Real Simple Syndication is a feature that allows users like you to gather updates from your favourite sites in one location. RSS was started with the intention of exposing consumers to news pulled from various sources. It has since been put to use for a wide variety of purposes, from event lists and announcements to local news or updates from friends, all updated automatically and found in one easy-to-use location.

How do I subscribe to an RSS feed?

Today, it is easier than ever to benefit from RSS! Many of the popular browsers out there - Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc. - offer a built in RSS Reader (or news aggregator). When you come to a page that offers RSS feeds, an orange RSS icon will light up on your toolbar. Click the icon and options will appear as to how you want to read your feed. Read them via your web browser, on your favourite aggregator, or have them sent straight to folders in your email client!

Another option is to use one of the many RSS readers available online. Bloglines, Yahoo, and Google are just a few popular and easy-to-use readers available to you.
