Pastor Ray Minniecon

BA in Theology

Ray Minniecon is a descendant of the Kabi Kabi people of South-East Queensland. He belongs to the Douwaburra tribe. Ray is also a descendant of the South Sea Islander people with connections to the people of Ambrym Island.

Currently, Ray works with the Anglican Diocese of Sydney as Pastor and Director of Crossroads Aboriginal Ministries. He is also the Chairperson of the Sydney Anglican Indigenous Peoples Committee and is a “Vision Keeper” of the World Christian Gathering of Indigenous Peoples, a Council member of the Global Indigenous Dialogue, a Director of Bunji Consultancies and a Board Member of Red Dust Role Models.

Ray has helped to establish Aboriginal churches and develop the Aboriginal leadership for churches in Sydney and Perth. He worked for World Vision Australia’s Indigenous programmes for 12 years and was its national Director for six of those years and was Editor-in-Chief of the National Indigenous Leadership Journal

Ray is the father of three children and two grandchildren. He loves writing songs and music, sport, public speaking and travel.
