Big Hearts, Big Family
The concept of community is of the utmost importance to any school. For some, it is difficult to imagine just how a parent and grandparent community interacts with students at St Andrew’s, when it rests in the very heart of Sydney’s CBD. Without the existence of the conventional ‘school gate’, how exactly does a tight-knit community thrive?
It all becomes clearer when you can see it for yourself. This photo essay captures one of the most important elements of St Andrew’s Junior School, the colossal input of our families; which is spurred ever onward by an accessible location, flexibility of staff and a bevy of animated young students excited to share their daily experiences. From Fathers Day Breakfasts atop the remarkable rooftop playground, to special Grandparents Day tours of the classroom, this photo essay captures the irrefutable connection that our City School has with student’s families, as well as the bonds that develop between parents themselves.
