St Andrew’s Cathedral School congratulates Year 12 HSC students on their 2016 results.  The highest mark scored was in fact full marks (50 out of 50) in Music Extension, scored by both Grace Lee and Marcus Milton. The highest 2 Unit result was scored by Scott Clayton, with 98 per cent in Ancient History. Scott had 10 Units at Band 6 level. Jordan Barnes, Sarah Chalwell, Ethan Crosweller, Johnathan Glinatsis, Ngoc Ky and Noah Tarlo scored Band 6 in 6 Units. In most cases, these students were a mark or two away from Band 6 in each of their remaining subjects.  
 
Eleven students have been nominated for the respective showcases of the best HSC major works in their subjects.

Individual subjects received some stunning results, with the following subjects all well above the State average by the indicated number of marks:

  • Design & Technology                         9.43 marks
  • Ancient History                                   8.23 marks
  • Legal Studies                                      5.76 marks
  • 2 Unit General Mathematics               5.61 marks
  • 2 Unit Mathematics                             4.99 marks
  • Extension 2 Unit Mathematics            3.97 marks
Approximately one-third of the Year 12 cohort who studied the International Baccalaureate Diploma as an alternate to the HSC will receive their results on 4 January.
