St Andrew’s Cathedral School

Student Representative Council

The SRC is an opportunity for students to have input into the running and organisation of the School on a regular basis. The staff supported group of students address issues facing their peers and within the School. It provides a valuable link between the teaching body and students, meanwhile being a valuable, accountable and effective student voice.

How does it work?

Two representatives are selected from each Year group and attend regular fortnightly meetings as noted in the diary. The representatives are accountable to their Year group. This involves communicating at Year Meetings in order to inform them of progress being made, but more importantly to confer with students, finding out what they want dealt with or feel would better the current position of our School.

What does the SRC do?

At meetings, representatives are able to bring issues for debate. These may be philosophical as well as practical concerns influencing its cultural heritage and daily life. A report of issues, suggestions, recommendations, feedback and progress will be taken to the Head of School at regular intervals.
