With the launch of our new look Character Strengths across the school, this year we invite Secondary School students to write a short story, create an artwork or compose a music composition that reflects one of the following: Hopeful, Thinking, Persistent or Caring.

Short stories up to 2500 words. Please email typed entry with your name and year level to: [email protected]
Entries must be A3 size, no more than 5mm thick, and can be in all formats – painting, textiles, drawing, printmaking, photography, graphic design etc. Please submit Year 7–12 entries to Mrs O’Mara in the Design Centre, with your name and year level clearly marked.
Secondary students must submit an MP3 or video format of 2.5 – 6min duration. Please supply a PDF explanation of how the music composition represents the theme. Submission of a written score is optional. Music technology and notation software permitted, except for Garage Band loops.

Judging and prizes
Entries will be judged on creativity, skill, audience engagement and originality in exploring the theme. Entries must be created in 2021 and no group entries are permitted.
Secondary School prizes for each category:
First prize $200, runners up $50
