Our Middle School is committed to best practice learning in the Middle School years. <\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We recognise that the academic needs of students through this stage are varied and differ from those in primary education and the final secondary years. Our Middle School offers a safe and nurturing environment that understands the challenges faced by students in the first years of High School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We promote positive attitudes towards learning and relationships with others in the heart of Sydney\u2019s CBD.\u00a0 Our philosophy of learning is centred on a comprehensive education that is not only tailored to the unique developmental needs of adolescents, but reflects the differing learning patterns of each student. Our dedicated teachers are committed to creative and flexible learning strategies, which cater for the students\u2019 unique abilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is during these \u2018middle\u2019 years that boys and girls lay the foundations of work habits that will underpin academic achievement in later years. It is also during these years that they embed the character strengths that will shape their lives in the decades to come. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are a purposeful community that fosters acceptance, courage and hope. Working in partnership with families, our Middle School is well equipped to provide the foundational skills and supportive environment that enables students to grow and flourish in all areas of life.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The teaching programmes at St Andrew\u2019s Cathedral School aim to foster a passion for learning that will stay with our students throughout their lifetime. We have a distinct approach to Middle School pedagogy that results in engaged, confident and independent learners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All students commencing Year 7, 8, 9 or 10 undertake the Middle Years Programme (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate under the curriculum of NESA, an internationally recognised framework representing best practice methodology for Middle Schoolers that ensures they will be challenged at every stage of learning.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We aim for students to grow in their understanding of themselves as valued children of God, with personal gifts to be nurtured, developed and engaged with in such a way that they are well prepared for life, able to enjoy it and able to contribute effectively to our School community and beyond.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
