Bishop Barry Centre (BBC) Campus<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Senior College campus is located at 51 Druitt Street and offers many specialist areas and space to study in either quiet spaces or seminar rooms and flexible social areas that encourage connections with other students and staff. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The unique pre-tertiary environment of Senior College is a result of its campus structure and city-based location. The tertiary style of campus allows students to move freely within the city precinct between classes and during breaks, encouraging students to rise to the challenge of being mature and responsible citizens within the Senior College community, preparing them for the world beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior College: Senior Study Centre<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Senior Study Centre offers students in Year 10-12 study areas and a selection of fiction, non-fiction, HSC and IB resources. Students can book break-out rooms for small groups and the larger open area provides a space for research and homework before and after school, during the school day, and in particular for timetabled study periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teacher librarians work closely with both HSC and IBDP students to support their learning and completion of assessment papers. Teacher librarians and Year 10-12 subject teachers co-teach a variety of research skill lessons. After school hours, students are supervised and supported by a member of the teaching staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specialist classrooms <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Music Department contains modern classrooms with first-class audio technology, specialist instrumental and vocal ensemble teaching areas, as well as sound-treated practice rooms for individual lessons, as practice forms the centre-piece of the department. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A recording studio is integrated into the main rehearsal space, fitted out with the latest software and hardware components. Music technology education is further enhanced by a composition classroom featuring state-of-the-art equipment for use by students.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have architect-designed visual art facilities, a multi-media\/digital studio, a design centre and specialist science labs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performance spaces <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2020, a major renovation of Chapter House created a fabulous space for assemblies, chapels and performing arts. It has the largest seating capacity in the school and features gallery level and floor level seating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

St Andrew\u2019s Cathedral, Chapter House, the dedicated Fairfax Music Room, the BBC Auditorium and our Heath Centre are the major internal performance spaces utilised by the Music department. The school\u2019s city location also gives students the opportunity to perform at the City Recital Hall Angel Place, the Concourse Theatre, the NIDA Parade Theatre, and Sydney\u2019s magnificent Town Hall for events such as the annual Showcase Performing Arts concert, the biennial school musical, and the annual end-of-year Evening of Celebration and Prize-giving. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

St Andrew\u2019s Cathedral School secondary Drama students also perform in the school\u2019s in-house Black Box Theatre, recently updated with a professional lighting rig, in our newly renovated Chapter House theatre space, as well as in professional venues across the city, such as the Enmore Theatre, Lend Lease Darling Quarter Theatre and NIDA.\u202fThe school also has a sprung floor dance studio and dedicated drama teaching room. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirrikee Outdoor Education Centre<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n

The school\u2018s own property, Kirrikee, in the Southern Highlands of NSW is a purpose built outdoor education centre on 120 acres of rolling, cleared grazing country, bushland and wetlands, bordered by Paddy\u2019s River. It is located on the traditional lands of the Gundungurra people (but quite near the lands of the Tharawal people).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Kirrikee provides the opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school\u2019s outdoor education programme is physically and mentally challenging, and is often referred to as one of the highlights of a student\u2019s time at the School. Year 10 students are offered a 20-day \u201cKosi to Coast\u201d expedition from Mt Kosciuszko to Bass Strait. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name Kirrikee is a derivation of the Indigenous word \u2018kirrkie\u2019 for a Whistling Kite, the bird that is pictured in the Kirrikee logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
