Gawura

Wellbeing and character

Our staff aim to develop in students a strong sense of identity, resilience and connectedness through all areas of school life.

All our programmes and initiatives are designed to help Gawura students thrive. Our approach to student wellbeing is built on the premise that young people learn best when they are healthy, safe and happy.

Our staff aim to develop in students a strong sense of identity, resilience and connectedness through all areas of school life. To help with this goal, we have initiated a weekly wellbeing time within each class, where we run a number of wellbeing programmes and initiatives that build resilience and develop respect and understanding between students.

All teachers exercise strong pastoral care and support for the children in their care. If additional support is required, we have counselling and specialist staff available.

Additional health screening

Gawura organises to have dental assessments completed for each student every year and optical and hearing assessments completed for each student, every two to three years.
