This ANZAC Day, we p

This ANZAC Day, we pause to honour the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our nation in times of war, conflict and peacekeeping.

To mark this important occasion, students gathered yesterday for a special ANZAC Day Term Service.

We are especially grateful to our Old Andreans and members of our wider community who served or are currently serving with pride and purpose.

We remember their bravery.
We honour their legacy.
Lest we forget.

This week, our Schoo

This week, our School community gathered to honour ANZAC Day through two meaningful services.

On Tuesday, our Junior School and Gawura School came together for a special Community Chapel, reflecting on the courage and sacrifice of those who have served. Today, our Secondary School marked the occasion with a commemorative service, where Mr Matthew Miller (Head of Humanities) shared a personal and powerful story about his relative who served in war.

Through these moments of reflection, we are reminded of the importance of remembrance, gratitude and the enduring ANZAC spirit.

Lest we forget.

Within St Andrew’s

Within St Andrew’s Cathedral School, Gawura School reflects our deep commitment to culturally authentic, First Nations education – one that extends well beyond the classroom to embrace our families and the wider community who journey alongside us.

At our recent Gawura Gathering, we were honoured to welcome Peta-Joy from Wiradjuri Wave, who generously shared her weaving knowledge grounded in her rich Wiradjuri heritage. Her contribution was vibrant, engaging and deeply authentic – enriching the experience for all and strengthening our shared connection to culture.

Our purpose, 'Bridging Worlds, Building Futures', was truly brought to life on the night.

A highlight of the evening was a beautiful student performance of 'Flow' from Buga Yanu Junba, sung in four languages – Bunuba, Gooniyandi, Waimajarri and English. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs Kate Robertson, Head of Music K–6, for her dedication, to Calvin Newling (OA2024) for his arrangement and to all the students who performed so beautifully.

Thank you to everyone who made Gawura Gathering such a meaningful celebration of culture, connection and community 💛

At St Andrew’s Cat

At St Andrew’s Cathedral School, learning doesn’t stop with our students – it extends to every corner of our community.

Recently, our winter sports coaches took part in professional learning, led by our Senior Learning Coach, Ms Elle Smith. An evening of 'Coaching the Coaches' reinforced our intentional approach to teaching and development in every space, including the sporting arena, as we gear up for another exciting season ahead.

By investing in our sport coaches, we are strengthening their ability to teach, guide and inspire our students – ensuring that every training session and competition is not just about performance, but about growth, character development and wellbeing.

The collaborative nature of our Professional Learning Programme creates a positive learning environment for our Sport Coaches. It ensures they have the skills for the upcoming season to motivate our students to achieve growth, both as individuals and as a team.

Because at St Andrew’s Cathedral School, sport is more than competition. It is a vital part of how we shape confident, capable and respectful young people.

St Andrew’s Cathed

St Andrew’s Cathedral School proudly took part in the 2026 SACS Cup, with both our Boys’ and Girls’ teams delivering exceptional performances across an exciting week of football.

Held at Sydney FC’s world-class training facilities in Macquarie Park, the tournament showcased the talent, determination and sportsmanship that define the St Andrew’s Cathedral School Football Programme.

A standout feature of the competition was the unity displayed across all teams. Students from Years 7 to 12 supported one another throughout the tournament, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and connection that extends far beyond the pitch. Junior players also embraced opportunities to step into a high-performance environment, demonstrating confidence and maturity against strong opposition.

As Sports Administrator and Convenor Mr Simon Aitken reflected:
“What impressed me most was not only the quality of the football, but the way the students conducted themselves as a team. The communication, selflessness and willingness to support one another were consistently on display throughout the day.”

We congratulate all players on their outstanding efforts and thank our dedicated staff and supportive families for contributing to a memorable event. We look forward to building on this success in the upcoming ISA season.

Over the past two we

Over the past two weeks, our Senior College students have taken part in powerful, thought-provoking workshops delivered by Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman.

These sessions created space for our young men and women to engage in honest conversations around identity, respect, consent and the expectations that can shape relationships. Through open dialogue and expert guidance, students were encouraged to reflect, challenge assumptions and build the skills needed to foster respectful, healthy connections.

This initiative forms part of our broader commitment to the Respectful Relationships Project – a whole-school approach to embedding respect, empathy and integrity into the daily life of our community.

At St Andrew’s Cathedral School we believe education must extend beyond the classroom. By partnering with organisations like Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman, we are equipping our students not only with knowledge, but with the courage and character to lead positive cultural change.
