After progressing through intense questioning and strong teamwork, our students delivered an exceptional performance to take out the national title.
This victory now earns them the incredible opportunity to represent Australia at the World Final in New Zealand later this year.
A huge congratulations to the team on this remarkable achievement, and to the staff who supported them in preparing for such a challenging and prestigious competition.

Congratulations to our students who represented the School at the NSW State Da Vinci Decathlon.
Competing against large fields across Year 7-10, our teams tackled an exceptionally demanding programme of interdisciplinary challenges spanning areas such as mathematics, science, engineering, code breaking, art and philosophy. Many of the tasks required advanced reasoning well beyond age level, making the experience both rigorous and highly enriching.
We are proud of the way our students approached the competition with focus, collaboration and resilience, producing outstanding results against strong opposition from schools across the state.

As Sir Doug Nicholls Round approaches, we are proud to share that Year 7 student Marlon Coulthard has been featured in an AFL Media story highlighting his journey through the game and his connection to the Sydney Swans First Nations Academy.
Marlon’s pathway into AFL began, like many young players in NSW, through the Paul Kelly Cup, an experience our School has been proud to support for the past decade as part of our ongoing commitment to student participation in representative sport. From there, his passion and talent have continued to grow as he develops within the Sydney Swans First Nations Academy, building both his football skills and cultural connection.
In a memorable twist, Marlon can also be seen wearing his St Andrew’s Cathedral School AFL jersey in the national AFL feature, a proud reminder of his early representative journey with us.
This feature forms part of the AFL’s Sir Doug Nicholls Round celebrations, which recognise and honour the outstanding contribution of First Nations peoples to the game and broader community.
We celebrate Marlon’s achievements, his dedication and the way he continues to represent his culture, his community and our School with pride both on and off the field.
