What are your impressions of the School?
Even before I started at St Andrew’s Cathedral School, I could see a strong sense of community coming through the School’s social media and website.
Since arriving that impression has only been confirmed – the warmth and professionalism of the staff is very clear. It is obvious that everyone across the School is deeply committed to creating an environment where students can grow academically, spiritually and personally.
What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about quality in the support we provide – making sure that every aspect of operations is done to a high standard and that we are doing everything we can to support our teachers, students and community.
“I want our Professional Staff to clearly understand the importance of their contribution and the impact it can have.”
I also care deeply about the role of our Professional Staff and the important contributions they make. Research has shown that Professional Staff can have a measurable impact on the student experience and education outcomes. I want to increase the positive effect we have on teachers, and on student learning and outcomes.
What made you want to work at St Andrews Cathedral School?
I was initially drawn to the School because of its reputation and because, on a personal level I love the School’s strong reputation in music. Growing up in the country, I learnt classical piano but had very limited opportunities to attend concerts or see music strongly embedded in education. To now be part of a school where music and performance are so central is exciting! I love seeing our students embrace these opportunities and develop skills and excellence – it’s inspiring and energising.

How do you think your previous experience will transfer to St Andrew’s Cathedral School?
I’ve spent over 20 years in senior operational and leadership roles in universities and schools. That background has given me a strong foundation in managing complex organisations, leading change and balancing operational demands with strategic goals. While schools and universities are different in scale, both environments require a focus on governance, risk, people and resources. I’m looking forward to applying that experience in a way that adds value here at St Andrew’s Cathedral School.
What are your hopes for your time here?
My hope is to contribute to a culture where our Professional Staff both recognise, and are recognised for, their vital contribution to the educational journey. I want to ensure we continue delivering high-quality work that supports and strengthens teaching and learning.
“My goal is to make a lasting, positive contribution to the School’s next chapter –ensuring our operations are not only effective, but also aligned with the School’s vision and values.”
