Vietnamese migrant Dylan Nguyen knew very little English when he arrived in Australia at the age of seven. Just 10 years later, he was school captain and was turning heads with an ingenious app he developed that helps predict bushfire risk areas across NSW. The experience has made him determined to further develop his programming skills in order to help solve problems that impact communities.
2021 School Captain Jess Duncan started her journey at St Andrew’s Cathedral School as a tentative Year 10 student, unsure that a change of school was going to result in a better schooling experience. The change was everything and more than she expected.
A transformative education
Students from across the Secondary School gathered in the Cathedral today for a competition of epic proportions with bands from each of the eight house groups battling for the SACS Factor plate. St Andrew’s Cathedral School acknowledges the Gadigal People who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we stand and one of the 29 clans of the Eora Nation which is bordered by the Hawkesbury River to the north, the Nepean River to the west and the Georges River to the south.
