Always Was, Always Will Be recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.
During NAIDOC Week 2020, we have many activities that our students and community are involved in. Below are listed some of the activities running all week, and then day-by-day.

Pullman Hotel Sydney Thank you cards for hotel guests during NAIDOC Week. Artwork supplied by Kindergarten to Year 3 Gawura students. Artwork is based on the story for the NAIDOC Week assembly -–The Man Shining Like The Sun – Gumbaingirr creation story. |

Monday 9 November
Junior School and Gawura: special assembly and introduction to NAIDOC week; NAIDOC theme art project on Level 7; NAIDOC Week Kahoots and challenges in the library.
Tuesday 10 November
Junior School and Gawura: Mufti day, raising money with gold coin donations for Connecting Communities Australia. Students to wear culturally inspired outfit, using the colours from the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander flags or clothes that incorporate Indigenous designs. NAIDOC theme art project on Level 7; NAIDOC Week Kahoots and challenges in the library.

Thursday 12 November
Junior School and Gawura: NAIDOC theme art project on Level 7 will be completed and mounted; NAIDOC Week Kahoots and challenges in the library.
Middle School/Senior College: Tutors groups will discuss and reflect on an Indigenous historical timeline.
Friday 13 November
Junior School and Gawura: Morning assembly on the Rooftop; NAIDOC Week Kahoots and activity challenge
Macquarie Group Panel discussion fundraising event for Gawura (a livestream online event): a panel of emerging Indigenous leaders, including Gawura teacher Michael Kirk, will discuss this year’s NAIDOC theme – 12–1pm.

Everyone: Gawura Gala Market public event. Please come along to browse and buy market items to raise funds for Gawura at All Saints Church, Hunters Hill, Cnr Ferry and Ambrose streets.
