As the much-anticipated NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) showcase and exhibition season draws near, we take a moment to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our Year 12 2024 graduates in the creative fields. We are not only recognising an impressive number of nominations, but also a record-breaking five selections for the 2025 NESA exhibitions. With 25 nominations and five selections across the OnSTAGE, ENCORE, SHAPE and ARTEXPRESS showcases, our students continue to prove their extraordinary talent and unwavering dedication to their craft.

The NESA exhibitions are prestigious platforms that highlight the best work produced by HSC students across various creative disciplines, including Drama, Music, Visual Arts and Design and Technology. Being selected for these showcases signifies a student’s work as among the finest in NSW.

ENCORE

In the realm of Music, we are eager to see Stanley Wills and his selected Musicology work at the ENCORE showcase, a prestigious event celebrating the best of HSC Music. Stanley’s exceptional Musicology piece has earned him a spot in this highly competitive showcase, which will take place on Monday 24 February at the Sydney Opera House.

Stanley was also nominated for his Music Performance alongside his other nominated peers Emma Chau, Je-Min McFadden, Gabriel Way Stamatellis and Ana Scott.

As we look ahead to the upcoming exhibitions of selected students, we also recognise those who were nominated, as this is an incredible achievement.

OnSTAGE

For OnSTAGE drama, which highlights exceptional HSC Drama performances, both our School’s group performances ‘The Odyssey of Democracy’ and ‘Chickens Incorp’ were nominated. These performances showcased our talented students: Brendan Bennett, Elliot Bishop, Daniel Mackay, Ana Scott, Stanley Wills, Timothy Box, Mahlia Davidson Nyika, Jack McGreal and Fern Still. These nominations recognise their incredible passion, collaboration and skill. Additionally, Brendan Bennett’s performance of ‘Dogologues’ and Timothy Box’s performance of ‘Love is Lovely, Here Lies Henry’ were nominated for individual performances.

SHAPE

Our School’s recognition in Design and Technology is equally impressive. Mylo Docherty, Ruby Carr, Aron Haes and Remy Maguire were nominated for SHAPE, the annual exhibition that showcases exemplary HSC major projects in Design and Technology, Industrial Technology and Textiles. Mylo was nominated for Design and Technology, while Ruby, Aron and Remy were nominated for Industrial Technology. We are extremely proud of their innovative and thoughtful projects, which reflect the creative spirit of our School.

Beyond the technical skills and creative prowess displayed by our students, these nominations and selections serve as a testament to the holistic education and character-building approach that defines our School. It is not just about academic success; it is about nurturing the resilience, perseverance and creativity that will serve our students well beyond the classroom.

As we look ahead to the upcoming showcases this year, we’re excitement for what our recent graduates will continue to achieve. These exhibitions represent not only the culmination of years of hard work but also the beginning of new possibilities for our graduates as they move forward into the future.

We extend our deepest congratulations to all the students who were selected, and we wish them the best of luck as they prepare to showcase their incredible work.

We invite you to join us in supporting these outstanding students as they share their work with the broader community.
